Summary

  • In the colonial war in Mozambique in the early 1970s, a white sergeant in the Portuguese army (born and raised in Mozambique) and his prisoner, a black guerrilla soldier (born and raised in Portugal) are stranded in enemy territory. On their long walk back to the nearest colonial quarters, they encounter a nurse in the Portuguese army, also lost in the African bush. Issues of racism and colonialism are explored, as they eventually reach better understanding of each other.
