What does a high school lunchroom tell us about the state of race relations in America? A commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the landmark supreme court decision, Brown v. Board of Education. The documentary takes place in Buffalo, NY at the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts. In many ways this school is the "Brown" ideal-- integrated, with a diverse mix of students; but, while they may attend classes together, the students segregate themselves. The film focuses on one brave group of teens who decide to take on the most visible, tangible representation of the racial divide-- their segregated lunchroom. In a challenging and often uncomfortable experiment, the students set out to discover what their lunchroom says about them and their community, and what they can do about it.
